One of the questions I get asked quite often is how I afford to  travel? A great question, if I may add. Most of us want to travel and we could use tips on how to make travel money and how to travel cheap. It’s human nature to want to replicate what someone has achieved and try and achieve the same goals. So here we go; I do have a 9 to 5 job; this is my major source of income at the moment and it is from this income that I afford to travel. How, then do I afford to travel to these “expensive destinations“.

What the colour of your passport means

Recently, I was having a chat with a good friend of mine about the struggles of being a third world country passport holder, my all time favourite topic of discussion 🙂 . People falling into this category are generally passport holders from African countries, a few Asian, Middle Eastern, Caribbean and South American countries. This little chat got me thinking about a time when I was in Rome on my way back to London when the flight got delayed a while due to a late departure from London. You know how delayed flights tend to make disgruntled passengers want to chat each other up and complain about the service. Little did I know I  was going to be pulled into small talk due to this. For those who know me personally; I am very much an introvert; only speak when am spoken to and seldom ever initiate a conversation with strangers unless in dire circumstances.

Taking Stock

Goodness! It’s been quite a while. Lots of life changes at the moment, settling in and trying to find a balance. I recently moved to New Zealand and trying to find my feet. Hence, my two month hiatus. I’m back now and I hope to post every so often.

Hi everyone, thanks for stopping by today. My last blog post detailed the mistakes I made while planning my trip to Dubai. Despite the few mishaps, I managed to squeeze in quite a lot of activities considering I was there for just a few days.

If you are visiting Dubai for the first time make sure you read my previous post here for things to avoid while there. Dubai is an amazing destination, a melting point of cultural diversity that makes for an enjoyable trip in a variety of ways. Dubai has a population of about 2.7 million with only a small fraction constituting the local Emirati people. Dubai will wow you with it’s amazing culinary options and cultural inclusivity. If Dubai is on your list this year consider this a quick guide.
